This abstract pattern is based on the photograph of sand ripples formed at the bottom of the ocean in Monterey, 17-mile drive. I was there early in the morning before sunrise, looking for a colorful display on the sky, when I noticed, crossing the mouth of this creek near the ocean, that I had a more pitoresque scene under my feet
