Deidra S. Smith has been drawing animals since her talent was recognized in elementary school. In her teens, she began creating original art with oil paints and soft pastels to experiment with how velour paper and sandpaper accentuate the texture of fur. Deidra is influenced by the photorealism style and meticulously blends soft colored pencils on paper to capture the expression shown in the eyes of animals.
